No. 23 Virginia Tech to Host Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge

Virginia Tech Hokies men's basketball will host the No. 14 Iowa Hawkeyes in the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge on Jan. 28, 2023, at Cassell Coliseum.

The Hokies are coming off a 23-13 season in which they finished fourth in the ACC and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Hawkeyes are coming off a 26-10 season in which they finished second in the Big Ten and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2019.

The Hokies are 2-0 all-time against the Hawkeyes.

The Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge is an annual event that pits teams from the Big Ten Conference against teams from the Big 12 Conference.

The challenge was first held in 2014, and the Big Ten has won six of the eight challenges.
